WOW What a year!!

Hi all

well it has been a remarkable year with me getting married, going to Italy on honeymoon and it has  also been the busiest time at work. I have undertaken a new martial art recently and have been working on learning wood turning. I have not been completely idle regarding wargaming, I have gotten my hands on some 100mm Blu-Foam and have been making Hills and rock formations.

This monster hill is made from a piece of 100mm foam and flocked with home made flock. As you can see it can easily accommodate large units of troops.

I also made some rock columns. I took a piece of 10mm foam from the corridor and floors kit and cut it into rough sections.
I used a sharp craft knife to roughen and profile these rocks before impaling them on a bamboo skewer. They are also glued in place with PVA.

Once the glue is dry I trimmed the skewer and painted them with some brown emulsion and left them to dry. I dry brushed them with lighter colours to bring up the details.

I glued some modelling gravel to the bases and once that was dry I painted the base again with thinned PVA. I added a wash of brown ink to darken the sand a little.
Here are the finished items with a couple of skellies for scale.

Coming up are hill projects and standing stones as well as finishing some items I started a while ago.
